Our Non Discrimination Policy
At the Black Girl Tribe, we are committed to fostering an environment of inclusivity, respect, and equality. Our mission is to empower and uplift Black Girls, and to create a supportive community where every individual feels valued and heard.
We firmly believe that diversity enriches our tribe, and we are dedicated to ensuring that our practices and policies reflect this core value. Discrimination of any kind—whether based on race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, socioeconomic status, religion, or any other characteristic—is strictly prohibited.

The Black Girl TRIBE Inc. Community Partner Code of Conduct

The Black Girl TRIBE Inc. is dedicated to empowering young Black Girls through mentorship, education, and community support. As a speaker, volunteer, or panelist working with our organization, you play a critical role in fostering an inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment. This Code of Conduct outlines our expectations to ensure that all interactions with our girls are positive, respectful, and empowering.
Core Principles:
1. Respect and Dignity: Treat every girl with respect and dignity. Recognize and celebrate their unique identities, experiences, and perspectives.
2. Cultural Competency: Strive to understand and respect the cultural backgrounds and experiences of the girls you work with.
3. Growth Mindset: Acknowledge that no one is perfect but everyone can grow and improve. Commit to continuous learning and self-improvement.
Specific Guidelines:
1. Adultism:
- Recognize the inherent power dynamics between adults and young people.
- Avoid speaking down to or patronizing the girls.
- Foster an environment where their voices are heard and valued equally.
2. Racism:
- Be aware of and actively counteract any forms of racism.
- Ensure that your language and actions promote racial equality and justice.
- Educate yourself on the historical and contemporary issues affecting Black communities.
3. Sexism and Misogyny:
- Challenge gender stereotypes and biases.
- Promote gender equality and respect for all gender identities.
- Speak out against any form of sexist behavior or language.
4. Misogynoir:
- Understand and combat the specific intersection of racism and sexism that Black girls face.
- Validate their experiences and support their unique challenges.
5. Implicit Bias:
- Reflect on and identify your own implicit biases.
- Work actively to mitigate the impact of these biases in your interactions.
- Engage in ongoing education to better understand and reduce bias.
6. Economic Disparity:
- Acknowledge the economic challenges that may affect the girls and their families.
- Be sensitive to the financial barriers that may impact their access to resources and opportunities.
- Strive to provide support and resources that are accessible to all.
7. Access and Resources:
- Advocate for and facilitate access to resources and opportunities.
- Ensure that all girls have equal opportunities to participate and benefit from your programs.
8. Checking Privilege:
- Recognize your own privileges and how they may influence your perspective.
- Use your privilege to uplift and support the girls.
- Be humble and open to feedback on how to better serve the community.
Commitment to Improvement:
- Self-Reflection: Regularly reflect on your own actions and attitudes.
- Education: Engage in ongoing education on issues related to race, gender, and social justice, with the girls being the source of knowledge.
- Feedback: Be open to and actively seek feedback from the girls and your peers. NOTHING ABOUT US WITHOUT US.
- Accountability: Hold yourself and others accountable to these standards.
