About the Event

Teach Reach Inspire Build Empower (TRIBE) for the betterment of Black Girls, our TRIBE exists to provide a safe communal space for Black Girls to exist, grow, succeed and excel. Formed by our Founder and Executive Director through adversity and feelings of being devalued our TRIBE serves as an example to all the naysayers that Black Girls are full of potential, magic and destined for greatness. This September while everyone is rejoining for the Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative Conference, we wanted to take the opportunity to elevate the stories of Black Girls and Women and celebrate those who have used the power of their intersectionality to make a mark.

As we amplify our celebration, this year we launch our inaugural “Black Girl Just Do It” power hour on Wednesday, September 28th from 6pm-8pm at Busboys and Poets (K St. location).

Where we will honor Black Women's contributions in the space of politics and advocacy while providing networking opportunities for like minded successful girls and women to connect. Over an appetizer, a few awards and conversation we would create an opportunity for our girls to see what possibilities the future holds, from people who look like them, and showcase examples of how they too could one day be in the seat of their fellow Black Girl making a change.

Our Inaugural 2022 Honorees:

-Dr. Monique Morris
