For our 10-Year Anniversary, The Formation Conference returns with A Different World: TRIBE U—an immersive, college-inspired empowerment experience designed to ignite brilliance, leadership, and joy in the next generation of Black Girls.

​

Formation 2026 is more than a conference. It is a tradition. A calling. A rite of passage. And this year we're truly creating our very own HBGU (Historically Black Girl University). For one transformative week,

Black Girls ages 12–18 will step into TRIBE U—an environment intentionally created to affirm identity, cultivate leadership, celebrate higher education culture and expand what’s possible.​

What is Formation?

Black Girl Excellence at the center of everything FORMATION CON. For one extraordinary week, Black Girls from across the country gather to explore identity, purpose, leadership, and future pathways in an environment designed specifically for them. This year's conference marks 10 YEARS of FORMATION CONFERENCE and celebrates over 1000 alumni INTERNATIONALLY. 

 

This is a space where Black Girls are not asked to shrink, perform, or explain themselves—they are encouraged to show up fully and boldly. FORMATION is A Different World.

What Is TRIBE U?

​

TRIBE U is a college-inspired experience designed to help Black Girls imagine themselves in spaces of leadership, learning, and influence—early and confidently. Throughout the week, participants engage in workshops, leadership sessions, and community experiences modeled after campus life, while remaining grounded in Black Girl culture, wellness, creativity, and joy. TRIBE U is not about preparing to belong—it’s about knowing you already do.

This theme allows Black Girls to explore identity, purpose, and future pathways in a space intentionally built for them—one that mirrors the environments they will one day enter, lead, and transform.

 

What to Expect at TRIBE U

✨ "Academic" & Creative Exploration- From leadership and entrepreneurship to wellness, creativity, STEAM, and social impact, Formation 2026 offers hands-on workshops and learning experiences led by dynamic Black women educators, creatives, and professionals.

 

✨ Keynotes & Conversations- Hear from visionary women who have transformed passion into purpose. Their stories don’t just inspire—they provide roadmaps.

 

✨ Sisterhood & Community

Build lifelong connections with other brilliant Black Girls who share your dreams, questions, and ambition. Together, you’ll form a constellation of support, accountability, and shared purpose.

 

✨ Joy, Culture & Celebration

TRIBE U balances growth with joy. Expect movement, music, creativity, laughter, and moments of rest—because Black Girl brilliance deserves celebration, not burnout.

 

✨ Leadership Development

Through collaborative challenges, guided discussions, and real-world problem solving, participants strengthen confidence, critical thinking, and leadership skills that extend far beyond the week.
